Christ-centered, Comprehensive, Compassionate, and Culturally-Informed Biblical Counseling and Spiritual Formation
    1 Thessalonians 2:8

    Our Commitment to You

We know that as a pastor, lay person, spiritual friend, student, or Christian counselor you care deeply. We also understand that sometimes we all struggle to speak the truth in love.

The Biblical Counseling and Spiritual Formation Network (BCSFN) exists to equip you to change lives with Christ’s changeless truth. It is our goal to empower you to care like Christ.

We are passionate about equipping you through Christ-centered, comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally-informed biblical counseling and spiritual formation. We are a community learning together how to use the Bible powerfully, effectively, and lovingly.

The Apostle Paul expresses the desire of our heart. “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us” (1 Thessalonians 2:8). True biblical counseling offers Scripture and soul—truth and love.

    Our Understanding of Biblical Counseling

We understand that no one person or group can offer a final definition of biblical counseling. We offer this working definition as one starting point for the ongoing conversation.

Christ-centered, comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally-informed biblical counseling depends upon the Holy Spirit to relate God’s inspired truth about people, problems, and solutions to human suffering (through the Christian soul care arts of sustaining and healing) and to human sin (through the Christian spiritual direction arts of reconciling and guiding) to empower people to exalt and enjoy God and to love others (Matthew 22:35-40) by cultivating conformity to Christ and communion with Christ and the Body of Christ.
